About the game
A farming game with no timers and no energy bar
Most farming games are built around scarcity of time: an energy bar that empties, a timer that punishes you for leaving. Tilovia is built the other way round, and it changes almost everything.
No energy bar. You can plant, harvest, dig and trade as long as you like. Nothing meters your session. The limit on how much you get done is how much land you have planted, which is a limit you can grow.
No countdown demanding your return. Crops ripen and then wait. A field harvested twelve hours late is worth exactly what it was worth on time. That is the single design decision that makes the game playable by somebody with a job.
There are timers on screen — the growth bars — but they measure how long until something is ready, not how long you have before you lose it. The difference sounds small and is not: one is information, the other is pressure.
Diamonds skip waiting, they do not gate it. Every bed, every upgrade and every crop can be reached by playing. Diamonds shorten the wait for players who want to move faster; nothing in the game is closed to somebody who never spends.
Where anything is decided by chance — crafting an artifact at the monument, for instance — the odds are written out inside the game before you commit.
What replaces the pressure. The reason to come back is not a penalty; it is that the town is asking for something. Buyers queue on the road, businesses post orders, the train waits to be loaded by whoever shows up, and a guild is working toward a goal with you. The game pulls rather than pushes.
And a long game underneath. Digging in the mine turns up ore and artifact fragments; the monument turns those into historical artifacts; each artifact permanently strengthens your farm. Completing that collection is a goal measured in weeks, not minutes — which is the right length for a game you play a few times a day.
- No energy bar: play as long as you like.
- No punishment for coming back late.
- Nothing is locked behind payment; diamonds only buy time.
- Odds are disclosed wherever chance is involved.
